Most Hurghada quad safaris collect you free from a Hurghada hotel and charge extra from Sahl Hasheesh, Makadi Bay, El Gouna, Safaga or Soma Bay. Where the resorts are
The quad rides go out into the Eastern Desert, inland from the coast. Sea Horse Sahl Hasheesh-Hurghada’s garage is in Sahl Hasheesh, 20 km south of Hurghada Marina in a straight line, and Makadi Bay is 27 km south; El Gouna is 25 km north. Hurghada hotel pickup is included in the price on five of the seven GetYourGuide quad listings compared on this site.
On the ride from Desert Fox Safari - Makadi Bay and Marsa Alam the transfer takes about 25 to 30 minutes from Makadi Bay or Sahl Hasheesh, 40 to 45 minutes from Hurghada, and up to an hour from El Gouna, Al Ahyaa, Soma Bay or Safaga.

How early the pickup comes
On Sea Horse Sahl Hasheesh-Hurghada’s ride, pickup may be up to 90 minutes before the departure; for 5:00 to 11:00 AM departures the time usually comes the day before, and for 1:00 to 3:00 PM departures that morning. One reviewer on 7 November 2026 warns that the time you book is not the pickup time, so watch for the WhatsApp message. Wild Desert Safari sends the pickup time by WhatsApp or email the day before and asks you to be ready ten minutes early.
What reviewers report about pickups
The cheapest rides come with the most pickup complaints. On the ride from Desert Fox Safari - Makadi Bay and Marsa Alam, 67 of the 350 most recent reviews (28 March to 7 November 2026) give three stars or fewer. In five of them, dated 11 September to 16 October 2026, the guests say nobody came to collect them or that the pickup was missed in confusion over where to wait; eight more describe pickups far earlier or later than booked, or times moved at short notice. On that ride, local regulations may prevent a hotel pickup, in which case another meeting point is given.
On Quad Tour Safari - Makadi Bay & Hurghada's trip, three of the 350 most recent reviews (29 July to 7 November 2026), on 17 August, 16 October and 6 November, say nobody came to collect them.
On Sea Horse Sahl Hasheesh-Hurghada’s ride, 15 of its 350 most recent reviews (21 September to 7 November 2026) give three stars or fewer; one says a pickup time was missed after two messages came separately, one describes an hour’s drive with a detour for another guest, and several five-star reviewers describe a punctual pickup.
