Morning, Sunset or Stargazing: When to Ride a Quad from Hurghada
The start times the Hurghada quad safaris showed on the dates we read, what the sunset and stargazing options add, what reviewers say about the early starts and the stargazing, and which time suits you.
Most Hurghada quad safaris run a morning ride and an afternoon or sunset ride, and a few start before dawn or end with dinner under the stars. If you are not sure, take the morning: on Wild Desert Safari’s Hurghada: Desert Quad Bike, ATV, Camel Ride & Optional BBQ, from US$28 a person (checked November 2026), the morning ride left at 8:00 AM and ran 3 hours on the dates we read, at US$34.55 a person, and the sunset ride left at 1:00 PM at US$37.90, or US$46.81 with the BBQ dinner and show.

Start times in the GetYourGuide option list on 27 November 2026, 20 January and 10 March 2027 (checked November 2026); other dates can differ. On Sea Horse Sahl Hasheesh-Hurghada's ride the 4:00 and 5:00 PM departures run in summer only.

The early start
Sea Horse Sahl Hasheesh-Hurghada includes an oriental breakfast on its 5:00 AM departures only; on the dates we read, that departure was on sale as a private option. One reviewer on 6 November 2026 booked the 5:00 AM ride for the sunrise, says they were too late for it, and did not get the breakfast. On the ride from Desert Fox Safari - Makadi Bay and Marsa Alam the 5:00 AM options were the cheapest on every date we read.
Sunset and the stars
The afternoon rides end the day in the desert. On Wild Desert Safari’s BBQ option you finish with dinner and a Tanura and belly-dance show; on Sea Horse Sahl Hasheesh-Hurghada's sunset option, with a camel ride, a BBQ, a show and stargazing, weather permitting.
Reviewers are less sure of the stargazing. On Sea Horse Sahl Hasheesh-Hurghada's ride, one on 16 October 2026 calls the village and the stargazing a joke; on the ride from Desert Fox Safari - Makadi Bay and Marsa Alam, one in August 2026 says the stargazing was cancelled at short notice and replaced with 30 more minutes on the quad. Book a sunset ride for the ride and the dinner, and count the stars as a bonus.
