What a Hurghada Quad Safari Includes

Most Hurghada quad safaris include a stop at a Bedouin village with tea and a short camel ride, and the evening ones add a BBQ dinner and a show; the cheapest rides include none of that. On Wild Desert Safari’s Hurghada: Desert Quad Bike, ATV, Camel Ride & Optional BBQ, from US$28 a person (checked November 2026; the option list started at US$34.55 on the dates we read), the morning and sunset rides include the village, bread baking, Bedouin tea and a camel ride, and the sunset BBQ option adds dinner and a Tanura and belly-dance show.

The camel ride
On the safaris that include one, the camel ride is short: 5 minutes on three of the trips above, and one reviewer of Wild Desert Safari’s trip on 22 October 2026 describes it as two minutes, for the photo. We read each trip’s 350 most recent reviews for complaints about how the camels were treated:
- Wild Desert Safari (13 October to 7 November 2026): one reviewer chose not to ride because she felt sorry for the camels, which had to stand up and sit down every three minutes for a new rider.
- Ava Travel Service (11 September to 7 November 2026): two, one on 23 September calling them “poor camels”, one on 4 October describing very tired camels being beaten to carry another tourist.
- Quad Tour Safari - Makadi Bay & Hurghada (29 July to 7 November 2026): two, on 9 August and 3 October, the second describing a handler punching a camel in the neck.
We found none in the most recent 350 of scorpionsafari's, Sea Horse Sahl Hasheesh-Hurghada's or Desert Fox Safari - Makadi Bay and Marsa Alam's. If you would rather not ride, you can stay on the ground: the reviewer on 4 November simply did not get on.

What you may be asked to pay for on the day
- A government fee. Wild Desert Safari’s trip has a mandatory EUR 1 government fee a person, chosen at checkout.
- Goggles and a scarf. Not in the price on most trips. Reviewers of Wild Desert Safari’s trip in October 2026 give EUR 3 for goggles and EUR 5 for a scarf.
- Photos. Photo packages are sold on most trips. A reviewer of Wild Desert Safari’s trip was offered a printed photo for EUR 2; reviewers of Desert Fox Safari - Makadi Bay and Marsa Alam's ride were asked EUR 40 (4 October 2026) and EUR 100, lowered to EUR 20 (11 October 2026), for photo links.
- Shops. scorpionsafari's village hour includes shopping and a herb pharmacy; Ava Travel Service's excludes the herb shopping. A reviewer of Desert Fox Safari - Makadi Bay and Marsa Alam's ride on 7 November 2026 warns of a shop at the end that pulls tourists in.
- Camel photos. A reviewer of Wild Desert Safari’s trip on 3 November 2026 warns of camel handlers asking EUR 15 for a photo on a camel.
None of these is compulsory except the EUR 1 fee. The quad bike price adds them up against each safari’s price.
